EU public tenders in plain English, for small IT and digital firms
A daily email brief (every weekday) of newly published open tenders from the EU's official procurement journal (TED), plus a short weekly summary of tenders that are closing soon. Each entry shows who is buying, what, roughly how much if the notice says, when it closes, and a link to the original TED notice, so you can quickly decide whether a tender deserves a closer look.

Why a brief?
In the 30 days from 17 September 2026 to 16 October 2026, TED published 3,716 contract notices (calls for bids) containing an IT or software CPV code, about 867 per week. They are written in the buyers' own languages and often give no budget: in a 14-day sample, 48% stated no value at all. Reading through all of them is the time-consuming part. (Counts come straight from the TED search API; method on the methodology page.)
What a subscriber receives
- Every weekday (Monday to Friday), one email: the open IT and software contract notices that TED published since the previous brief. Delivery is by email.
- Once a week, a short “closing soon” email: notices from recent briefs whose deadline falls within the next seven days, so nothing is missed. (Planned format, like the rest: nothing is being sent yet.)
- English first. The wording around each notice (labels, hints, summary) is in English. Because TED notices are written in the buyers' own languages, each brief also shows the notice title and a short description in English: taken from the notice when the buyer supplied English, otherwise machine-translated and labelled “Machine-translated from [language] — check the original”, with the original title and a link to the original TED notice, which is the authoritative text. Briefs in Swedish, German or French are a possible later feature; those pages are drafted but not published.
- A reminder in every email that it is a convenience summary and not legal advice.
How notices are selected
By fixed rules, not by editors and not per subscriber: contract notices on TED that are still open and whose primary CPV classification is IT services (72) or software (48). Today every notice that passes those rules is listed. There is no personal filtering, ranking or “matching” yet; filtering by country or CPV code is something we may build, not something that exists. (A rule-based fit score, no AI, exists in our code and is described on the methodology page; it is not applied to what subscribers receive.) At the current volume, about 670 notices a week pass the rules, roughly 134 per weekday, so a daily brief would be long. The fit hints are simple rules (days left, contract size, procedure, bid languages), not eligibility checks.
What each entry contains
- Title, buyer and country
- Estimated value, only if the notice states one (otherwise it says "Not stated")
- Deadline (and whether it is the deadline to apply or to submit a full bid)
- CPV code (the EU's standard category code)
- Fit hints for a small firm, such as contract size, procedure type and accepted bid languages
- Always the link to the original notice on TED
A real sample: an IT services tender
Generated automatically on 17 October 2026 from a real TED notice, picked by a fixed rule (written in English or with an English title; an open-procedure IT services contract with at least two weeks left; value either not stated or EUR 50,000 to 300,000), not because it is typical. Its deadline may have passed by the time you read this. See 10 real notices, unfiltered for size or quality.

How it works
- Each weekday we check TED's public search service for newly published contract notices that are still open.
- We keep notices whose primary CPV classification is IT services (72) or software (48).
- We turn the notice fields into a short brief. The facts come straight from TED's data; the short summary is a plain template today and may become AI-assisted later, always labelled as such. Titles and short descriptions are shown in English: taken from the notice when it has an English version, otherwise machine-translated and labelled as such, with the original title and link beside them.
- Each brief links to the original TED notice. You read it there before you decide anything.

Questions
Is it daily or weekly?
Both, once launched: one brief every weekday, plus a short weekly “closing soon” summary. Nothing is being sent yet.
Is this an official EU service?
No. It is an independent project. It uses public data published by the Publications Office of the European Union on TED and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the EU or TED.
Do you write the bid or give legal advice?
No. A brief helps you decide what to look at. Eligibility, deadlines and requirements are defined by the official tender documents; always read them. Nothing here is legal or professional advice.
How accurate are the briefs?
Facts such as buyer, country, value, deadline and CPV code are copied from TED's structured data. Notices can contain errors or be corrected later, and TED's own legal notice disclaims liability for its content. Summaries are automatic, which is why every brief links to the official notice.
Which tenders are covered?
Contract notices (calls for bids) on TED whose primary CPV code is IT services (72) or software (48). Notices that only appear on national portals, below the EU thresholds, are not on TED and are not covered.
Are there customers or testimonials?
There are no customers yet, so there are no testimonials or case studies here.
